Most beginners fail at GTM not because of tools, but because they skip the thinking.
Yesterday, a freelancer (soon-to-be agency founder) reached out to me to discuss his AI stack. On our call, his questions were smart, but one thing was clear: he didn't have much clarity on GTM and outbound execution.
And honestly, this is the same confusion almost every beginner faces when entering GTM, AI automation, or agent/agency building.
So before running any outreach or automation, or starting any GTM/outbound motion, answer these and create a simple doc:
- Who exactly is your target B2B customer?
- How will you get leads?
- On what basis will you filter or enrich them? (optional)
- Which tools will you use for outreach?
- What's your TAM, and how many emails can you realistically send per day?
- What pain matters most to your ICP?
- Hotels → GMB visibility
- EdTech → website conversions
- What will your email body look like?
- What will your subject line be?
- What's your actual pitch?
Your first goal is conversation, not conversion.
